The 2026 Mark Smith Memorial Fly-in

Well, I said in my last post that I was going to the Posey Patch airfield in Posey County Indiana to attend the 2026 Mark Smith Memorial Fly-in...and I'm here! I have been here for 8 days already, assembling my Quicksilver MX and getting her flight worthy. I completed the process of assembling the airframe in about 5 days from tubes in the trailer to 98% completion. It took another 2 days to straighten out the remaining 2%. On Thursday (yesterday) I took my first solo flight since my dead-stick landing in the grass field in October 2026, chronicled here on January 2007.  I made 2 flights for a total of about one and a half hours!

I had great fun, but today the weather is rainy with breaks. I'm going to wait for better weather to get more flying in!
